Job Description:

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Landscape Supervisor is to install and supervise Landscape projects and to direct the workflow of team(s), at the direction of the Landscape Supervisor and Operational Salesperson.

  • Work with Landscape Designer, Supervisor, Salesperson and Customer to review and install/implement Landscape projects, based on contract.

  • Supervise crew on Landscape projects.

  • Facilitate on the job training program for new crew members and provide ongoing training for crew members’ skill development objectives.

  • Responsible for actions and oversight of crew members, in order to maintain a professional image at all times.

  • Install trees, flowers, and shrubs according to overall plan design, utilizing best horticultural practices.

  • Install hardscapes (brick pavers, decks, patios, water features, timber walls, and rock walls) according to overall design, based on contract.

  • Use Landscape equipment to support overall design.

  • Facilitate training for time punch management in Aspire, using a tablet or smartphone.

  • Fully participate in snow removal processes.

  • Complete time approval in Aspire daily to ensure payroll is submitted timely and accurately.

  • Effectively communicate daily with Landscape Supervisor and Salesperson on jobsite workflow.

  • Maintain accurate records for material usage and management in Aspire.

  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment on project worksite, to include company vehicles.

  • Clean up debris and project worksite daily.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

Key Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bilingual abilities in Spanish preferred.

  • Possess an excellent knowledge of reading landscape plans and onsite layout.

  • Possess an excellent knowledge of topography and transit operation.

  • Ability to prioritize workload; ability to multi-task & problem solve quickly.

  • Highly detail oriented.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to use tablet or smartphone for time punches in Aspire.

  • Flexibility with work schedule and job duties.

  • Adhere to all company & OSHA requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of field experience.

  • Some college in horticulture-related field.

  • Previous leadership experience.

  • Proven knowledge of regional plants and materials for identification, planting and care purposes.

  • Excellent knowledge of landscape equipment including, but not limited to, backhoes, graders, excavators, and tractors.

  • Must have or be willing to obtain NC Certified Landscape Technician, NC Certified Plant Professional & First Aid certifications.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and successfully pass insurance screening.

Physical Requirements

  • Bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, walk, reach, carry, climb & lift for prolonged periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work at heights.

  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.

  • Ability to work around and with moving machinery/equipment.

  • Stand, sit, walk/move for duration of work shift.

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor position – Ability to adjust to climate changes; may be exposed to heat, cold, rain, snow, & noise

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation:

Salary: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
